Italian Veggie Sausages Pizza

Ingredients

2 tsp (10 mL) Spectrum Naturals® Olive Oil
1 cup (250 mL) sliced red or sweet onion
12-inch (30 cm) pre-cooked thin pizza crust
1/2 cup (125 mL) pizza sauce
2 Yves Veggie Cuisine® Spicy Italian Veggie Sausages, sliced
2 slices Yves Veggie Cuisine® Veggie Bacon Strips, sliced
1/2 cup (125 mL) sliced bell peppers
2 tbsp (30 mL) parmesan cheese
3/4 cup (175 mL) shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-low heat. Add onion; cook, stirring often, for 7 minutes or until soft. Set aside.
  2. Place pizza crust on a baking sheet; spread with sauce. Top with veggie sausage, veggie bacon, peppers, cooked onion, Parmesan and mozzarella.
  3. Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until heated through and cheese is melted.

Makes 4 servings

Variations: Use Yves Veggie Cuisine® Sweet Italian Veggie Sausages, Yves Veggie Cuisine® Veggie Pizza Pepperoni, add pickled hot peppers, pitted calamata olives, etc.

Vegan: Use mozzarella style shreds and Parmesan flavour grated soy topping.
